Types of Storage
First of all, we will talk about the types of storage. Mainly, there are 2 types of storage:
- HD (Hard Disk Drive) – In this storage, we get a speed of 80Mb to 200Mb, which is very slow.
- SSD (Solid State Drive) – In this type, you have different generations, and you will get speeds ranging from 200Mb to 14,000Mb, which is very fast.

Storage Impact
Now let’s talk about the benefits of good storage. First of all, let me tell you that if you use a good processor, good graphics card, and good RAM in your PC, then it is true that your PC will become fast, but storage also plays an equal role in it. If you do heavy gaming on a PC, the storage in it should be quite good. If you turn on your PC using an HD Drive, then your PC will turn on after 10 seconds. But if you use SSD storage, then your PC will turn on within 5 seconds.
If your storage is not good, then you may also face problems with importing and exporting in video editing. Gaming is in trend these days, and you must know that the craze of ray-tracing is at the next level in gaming. If you are playing any game that involves ray-tracing, then the files are so large that you need good storage to use them. If the quality of storage is low, you may see a lot of FPS drops.

which storage will be right for you
First of all, let’s talk about which storage will be right for you.
- If you are a work professional or a student, then you should simply buy an SSD of at least 256 GB in which your Windows is installed and daily use software is installed, so that you can get a smooth experience. You can also keep a hard drive along with it in which you can store movies, study-related content, and work files; you do not need much speed in this.
- If you are a gamer or content creator, then you must have an SSD of at least 512 GB to 1 TB, so that you can keep all your games or working software in the SSD, which will give you a smooth experience. Along with this, you can also keep a hard drive in which you can store your big files and extra games.

Which Gen storage should you choose?
Which Gen storage should you choose? First of all, let’s discuss Gen 5. I’d like to inform you that we don’t need Gen 5 right now because it is very fast. In my opinion, you don’t need it at the moment. If you are a gamer or a content creator, then you can opt for Gen 4 storage, as it is also very fast. In my opinion, Gen 3 is the best choice for now. This storage is also very fast, allowing you to easily perform all kinds of tasks and play games. Moreover, you will find it at a much lower price compared to Gen 4 and 5.
Pricing
Talking about the pricing, today if you buy a 1 TB SSD, you will get it for Rs 4000. After this, you will get a Gen 3 1 TB SSD for around Rs 5000.
